Cork Trivet/Mobile Base

This is a solid cork trivet large enough to handle the hottest & heaviest cast iron pan.  It has channels routed in so you can use it as a holder for an Ipad, Kindle, or phone. We use a lot of cork in our furniture and these are made from pieces too small to use. All of our cork is post-production waste. To translate cork bark is removed every 9 years from the cork oak. Wine and other types of stoppers are punched out and what remains is ground up and compressed into blocks and cylinders of various sizes. The binder that is used is food grade so you can use it as a plate in a pinch!
